COMIC star Stephen K Amos will make a cameo appearance in a spooky Stroud-based pilot TV series, Last Road.
The stand-up comedian, who is currently presenting An Idiot's Guide on BBC Radio 4, was asked to play a zombie in a scene shot along the Stroud canal by local film makers Chas Burns and Joe Reeve, who also star in the series.
Chas, who runs the Almost Legal Productions theatre company, said: “I was lucky enough to get to know Stephen more than 20 years ago when we were both assistant stage managers and we’ve been great friends ever since. When I asked him to take part he jumped at the chance.”
The plot sees a deadly virus sweep across the country with the Government choosing Stroud as a testing ground to start to regenerate normal life.
Chris and Dave, played by Chas and Joe are two individuals who wear Stroud close to their hearts. Friends from childhood, they run a local pest control business spending each day sitting in cafes considering their lives and how they could possibly put the world to rights.
Something is wrong though, very wrong, and with a turn of events they find themselves deep in more trouble than either of them bargained for.
The series was shot at Saul junction, Brimscombe Port, the Black Books Cafe, Bisley, Nailsworth, Dudbridge, The Picture Framers at Wallbridge, Whiteway, Uplands, Chalford and Rodborough.
