A 31-YEAR-OLD Cheltenham man has denied inciting an eight-year-old child to engage in sexual activity.

Russell Peacock of Princess Elizabeth Way, Cheltenham pleaded not guilty at Gloucester crown court on Friday to two charges.

A plea and case management hearing was listed for October 10 and a two to three day trial scheduled for January 12,2015.

Judge Jamie Tabor QC said "Considering the young age of the child we shall try and get the trial heard earlier."

Peacock was granted conditional bail.
