WORK has begun to improve the skid resistance of 325,000 square metres of the county’s roads.
The surface dressing treatment, which will be carried out over the next four weeks, will be used for 28 schemes – including roads in Harescombe, Whitminster and Minchinhampton.
It is a commonly used, cost effective surface treatment that prolongs the life of roads and enhances skid resistance, improving road safety.
In the majority of cases, the road will be closed while the works take place, which will usually be for one or two days.
