ARTISAN swordplay overseen by a monarch of the realm will be in store for visitors to Gloucester.
King Richard the Third – the Duke of Gloucester – will personally take charge of a weekend full of fun and excitement, as medieval re-enactors provide a taste of life in ancient Gloucester.
The Mediaeval Gloucester Show takes places on August 9 and 10, between 11am and 4pm on both days.
The event takes place on the bowling green behind the City Museum and day tickets are £4 for adults, £3 concessions and £9 for a family ticket (2 adults and 2 children).
Weekend passes are £6 adults, £5 concessions and £12 for a family.
Council Leader, Paul James, commented: “We know just how much interest people in the city have in this period of history and in Richard the Third himself. To have a monarch of the realm oversee this event will be brilliant fun and entertainment.”
