A QUEDGELEY man has been found not guilty of assaulting a woman who was seven months pregnant.
Jamie Wright, 32, was accused of pushing Rhianon Goddard against a door on Thursday, February 20. Stroud magistrates heard on Monday how Mr Wright, of Buckenham Walk, Quedgeley, went to a flat to collect belongings from his former partner, Gemma Harper.
Ms Goddard claimed he pushed her against the door after she refused him entry into the flat in Wellington Street, Gloucester.
Mr Wright, who was charged with assault by beating, denied all accusations of physical contact. He said he swore while telling Ms Goddard to get his “stuff” – but used no force.
District Judge Kiran Dhillon said there was not sufficient evidence against Mr Wright.
Ms Goddard said she could not remember much about the incident.
In the log of the 999 call there was no mention of an assault, which presented “doubt” over the accusations, said Ms Dhillon.
A statement from Wright’s ex partner, Ms Harper, contradicted the prosecution, stating the door Ms Goddard claimed to have been pushed into was open while Mr Wright was present.
