A MAN was stabbed in Cirencester during the early hours of this morning near to the McDonald's fast-food restaurant on Cricklade Road.
The 27-year-old man from Swindon, who received a single stab wound to the stomach, was taken to Swindon General Hospital where he was treated for his wounds, which are not considered life threatening or life changing.
A 19-year-old man has been arrested as part of an on going police investigation.
Police were called to an incident in Cricklade Road, near to the entrance of McDonald's carpark at about 3.24 am.
After the incident the police cordoned off the site and searched both the victim's and suspect's cars, but the cordon has since been removed.
A police spokesman said: “It is understood the two people knew each other and the incident followed a verbal altercation.”
He added that that the cars which were searched were not linked to police investigations.
A worker from the the nearby Tesco Extra store said: “Two cars were parked there at 7.30am when I arrived for work. There was a police man sat in his car guarding them. ”
