CHILDREN dug deep when they enjoyed an archaeology mini-digs day at the Museum in the Park on Friday, July 25.
Run in partnership with the Festival of British Archaeology, the day included a sandpit full of treasures.
Collections officer Alexia Clark said: “There was a sandpit full of treasures to be discovered, plus drawing and sorting activities.
“A favourite was layers of sand in a cup which was a great way of explaining the complexities of stratigraphy.”
Other events include Meet the Geologist on August 20 and Meet the Curator on August 6 – 27.
