The incident happened at 9.15am on Monday, June 16, when a 65-year-old woman was walking along Bell Lane towards the indoor market.

She was approached by a man who attempted to wrestle her handbag from her shoulder. A struggle ensued before a member of the public stepped in and threw coffee over the man. Finally the robber fled empty handed.
