UNWANTED household goods were reused at a community market in Middle Street Stroud last Saturday.
Middle Street Residents’ Association arranged for the road to be closed while stalls were set up outside homes allowing families to sell unwanted goods.
Donations and items were also collected for the Cotswold Canal Trust.
The association wants Middle Street to be the first in Stroud where every single household recycles its rubbish.
Currently about 70 per cent of households put out recycling boxes and advice was given out to help the street reach its recycling targets.
Resident Caroline Denny said: “We are on the way to reaching our target. Children enjoyed hopscotch in the street, the dogs played and much fun was had.”
