POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a copper memorial plaque was stolen from a former WWII RAF airbase in Windrush.
The plaque commemorates a Sgt Pilot who died when he rammed a German bomber with his unarmed aircraft.
It is thought the plaque was stolen between Wednesday, August 6 and Saturday, August 9.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police on 101 quoting incident number 178 of August 9.
