A HEALTH care worker is overcoming her fear of heights to help Cotswold Care Hospice.
Caroline Wilkes, 31, will complete a 12,000ft tandem free fall sky dive in support of the charity on November 8 this year.
“I wanted to be an astronaut as a kid until I realised that feeling shaky whilst standing on a ladder didn't stand me in good stead for being rocketed into space so the skydive is a bit daunting,” she said.
Caroline, who lives in Malmesbury, works as a bank health care assistant with Cotswold Care Hospice’s day hospice service.
She describes the Hospice in Minchinhampton as a “sanctuary for those who are in their greatest need”.
“I’ve never been in a plane before,” she said. “After this I’ll be able to say that I’ve flown but never landed.”
Every year Cotswold Care Hospice provides support and care for more than 600 people. All of its services are provided free of charge.
The hospice supports adults aged 18 and over.
Caroline hopes to raise £400 with her skydive. Donations can be made via the Do It For Charity Website - www.doitforcharity.com/CarolineWilkes or for further information you can call Caroline on 01666 311243.
