ROTARY Club royalty visited Stroud this week to lend a helping hand to the £34,000 transformation of the Capel’s Mill site.
Peter King, Rotary International president of Britain and Northern Ireland ,visited the site off Dr Newton’s Way on Thursday as a part of a tour of Rotary projects across the region.
Nailsworth Rotary Club members have been actively involved in working with environmental charity Stroud Valleys Project on the restoration of the Capel’s Mill site clearing rubbish, planting trees and wildflowers.
Ken Culham, Nailsworth club president joined Mr King, Martyn Harwood, Rotary district governor and SVP trustee Jay Way to help with the new pond being dug at the site as part of a scheme to completely transform it from a rubbish tip to a community open space.
