IT was all smiles at Cirencester Kingshill in Cirencester this morning as students celebrated outstanding GCSE results.
Out of those taking the exams, 67 per cent achieved five or more A* to C grades, including English and maths and 24 per cent of GCSE grades were A* or A.
One of the several pupils that got outstanding grades was Roxy Ryan who got nine A*s and two As.
Roxy, 16, explained she was shocked when she first received her grades “I couldn’t breathe at first which was worrying but now it's all good,” she said.
Another big achiever was Matt Isles who clocked up seven A*s and the rest As.
Matt said: “I was very nervous and shocked when I came in but as soon as I showed it I ran to the building to find my friends.
He added his grades were good enough to allow him to take a place at Radley College in Oxford to do a scholarship in music.
Thomas Dixon got eight A*s, 3 A*s and 2 Bs.
He said that he was amazed and really, really happy with results he never thought he would achieve.
Headteacher of Kingshill, Christine S Oates, said: “Congratulations to all our Year 11 pupils. They worked very hard throughout Year 11 and the pupils were a credit to themselves, their parents and the school.
“The staff worked persistently hard to raise pupil expectations, encouraging and supporting the pupils throughout their GCSE courses. The staff would like to wish Year 11 pupils every success for their future.”
