IN 1997, a young Claire Howard stepped on to the stage of the Cotswold Playhouse in the title role of Cinderella.

Now, more than 15 years later, Claire is set to direct the Cotswold Players’ production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella.

“I love the story as it’s a true fairy tale, what every girl dreams of, meeting her prince charming, true love and being whisked away to a new life,” said Claire.

Auditions are open to members and non-members alike, however, if cast, becoming a member is required.

Auditions take place on Saturday, September 6 and Sunday, September 7 at the Playhouse in Parliament Street, Stroud – audition information can be downloaded at cotswoldplayhouse.co.uk “This production will be filled with magic and enchantment – as every fairy tale should be,” said Claire.

“And who knows, this may be the beginning of her own fairytale for a brand-new budding young actress, if she is cast in the leading role.”

The production will run at the Cotswold Playhouse from Wednesday, January 21 to Saturday, January 24 and Wednesday, January 28 to Saturday, January 31, next year, with matinée performances being held on each Saturday afternoon.
