A VINTAGE waistcoat made from world renowned Stroud wool has found its way home.

Rebecca Black, proprietor at Strangeness and Charm Vintage in Stroud's Gloucester Street, spotted the dapper Strachan manufactured garment at an antiques market in Worcestershire.

Rebecca said:“ I am pleased to be able to return it to its natural habitat.

“I would guess the Stroud cloth waistcoat is from the 1960s. The original buttons were damaged, so had to be replaced.”

Strachan also post an impressive record in the world of sport and are the exclusive cloth choice of World Snooker, since 1980 Strachan has been used at professional ranking tournaments across the globe, including the annual World Championships.

Strachan are now part of Milliken Woollen Speciality Products group, formerly Winterbotham, Strachan and Playne (WSP) and are now named WSP Textiles Ltd, based at Lodgemore Mills, Stroud.

The company also stock Playne’s tennis cloth, which represents  three grand slam tournaments; Wimbledon, the French Open and the Australian Open.
