SEWAGE water flooded into Old Market Road in Nailsworth yesterday, Tuesday, morning after a blockage forced water out of the drains.
A team from Severn Trent spent the day clearing fat, oil and grease which had solidified in the drains, blocking the flow of sewage.
A spokesman said: “This is a prime example of why certain things should not be disposed of down the sink.”
The flooding spread into Cossack Square, outside Claire Frances Hair Design.
