A MAN was assaulted at the roadside in Gloucester yesterday (Monday, September 1).


The 58-year-old victim was walking along Willow Avenue towards Coney Hill Road between 2.15pm and 2.30pm when he was approached by a man who talked to him before verbally abusing him and punching him in the face.

The offender is described as white, in his 20s, 5ft 8ins to 5ft 9ins tall, of medium build and with light, tidy hair. He was wearing jeans.

The victim was treated by paramedics for a cut to his left eyebrow, a swollen nose and bruising below his eye.

Police have issued an image of a man who may have important information about the case.

That man, or anyone who recognises him is urged to call 101, quoting incident 277 of September 1.
