A LORRY driver who failed to stop at a junction and collided with another HGV on a busy road has been fined £400.

Stroud magistrates court heard on Wednesday, August 20 that John Hughes, aged 46, had admitted driving without due care and attention.

He did not appear in court.

Magistrates were told how the incident happened at a junction on the A46 south of the Calcot crossroads near Nailsworth on Wednesday, March 26.

Both drivers were injured and significant damage caused to each vehicle, the court heard.

Hughes, of East Ellue Avenue, Holbeach, Lincolnshire, was ordered to pay a £400 fine plus £85 court costs and a £40 victim surcharge.

Five points were imposed on his licence.
