GET some first-hand advice on what to do in an emergency tomorrow, Saturday.

Stroud Fire Station will open its doors to the community between 1.30pm and 4pm and firefighters will demonstrate the dangers of a chip pan fire and show people what they do in a road traffic collision.

There will also be an Aerial Ladder Platform and the Special Incident Support Unit vehicle on show.

In addition, visitors can experience what it's like to be in a smoke filled room and learn what to do if they are faced with this situation.

There will also be a bouncy castle, refreshments and a number information stands including Gloucestershire Constabulary, The Firefighters Charity, Meningitis Now and Red Cross.

Cllr Will Windsor-Clive, cabinet member for communities, said: "Fire station open days are great fun and also a brilliant opportunity to find out how to stay safe.

“If you're in the area, come along to find out more about the brilliant work our firefighters do and advice available."
