LAURIE Lee’s Cider With Rosie is being made into a BBC drama.

The series, which is due to air next year, will sit alongside a programme of BBC adaptations including Lady Chatterley’s Lover and An Inspector Calls.

This will mark the third time that Cider With Rosie has been adapted to the screen — the first television production of the novel was in 1971 and it was adapted again in 1998.

It is believed some of the filming will take place in the Slad Valley.
