Strictly Latin for Ladies dance fit class starts tomorrow, Thursday at Christ Church (Sawyer Hall). Get fit and have fun learning dance moves you don’t need a partner for including Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive and Samba. Ring professional dance tutor Marion on 01453 861001 for more information.

Meet the new vicar the Rev Mike Smith in the Mortimer Rooms between 10am and 12.30pm on Saturday, September 20.

The Weaving Shed at Gigg Mill, Nailsworth (GL6 0JF) will be open from 10am to noon on Saturday, September 20. Visitors can try their hands at weaving a pattern as well as seeing demonstrations of the flying shuttle and a power loom.

The Mill Centre at Dunkirk Mill will be open 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, September 20, Sunday, September 21 and Wednesday, September 24 with demonstrations of Victorian textile machinery.

Story lovers young and old are warmly invited to a Saturday morning of stories at the Ruskin Mill fireside. Enchanting stories, enthralling tales and elaborate lies ... Enjoy listening to the wonder, wit, mystery and magic of stories from around the world.

Storyteller Fiona Eadie will be at Ruskin Mill in Old Bristol Road, Nailsworth on Saturday, September 27, October 18, November 15 and December 13 from 10.30am to 12.30pm. The next meeting of Cafe and Community at Christ Church will be at 7.30pm on Wednesday, October 1 when Laura Stephen and Pippa Stroud from Stroud District Council will speak on 'Housing: A Local Perspective'.

Nailsworth Rotary Club is hosting a charity masked ball at Stroud Subscription Rooms between 7.15pm and 11.15pm on Friday, October 3. The event is in aid of Great Western Air Ambulance, the Stroke Association and ShelterBox. To book a table for 6+ or for more information please ring 07472 318010.

Look for your Nailsworth or Avening ancestors in our parish registers, fully transcribed and indexed 1557-1899 (burials to 1949). Community apple pressing - make delicious juice from your own apples from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, September 27 outside the Nailsworth Co-op. The weekly Tuesday family walk will be changing to Saturday mornings as of Saturday, September 6. It now starts at 10am at the Comrades Club until further notice. It lasts approximately two hours, £3 each to include a drink and a snack upon return. Call Mike Harvey on 01453 832739 – everyone welcome.

Walking for Health ticks all the boxes; physical, mental and social. The walks take place at 2pm each Tuesday departing from Nailsworth library.
