Stonehouse History Group will meet at 7.30pm tonight, Wednesday in the town hall. David Viner, who works for the Canal and River Trust as their heritage advisor for the South West region, will talk about how the canals affected the west and south of the country's canal design, water supply and the use of iron for contraction. Visitors are always welcome.

Join us for the next Cotswold AONB Warden’s Walk at 10am on Sunday, October 12 for the Dursley Walking Festival and a six-mile walk from Dursley Town Hall to Upthorne taking three hours. At 10am on Tuesday, October 13 join us for a six-mile walk from The Royal Oak, Leighterton through Westonbirt Arboretym and back to the starting point, which will take four hours. Join us for Stonehouse Health Walks which take place from 10.15am at Stonehouse community centre every Tuesday morning. Walks last up to one hour and this is an excellent way to keep fit and make new friends. The Pop In is open for coffee at the end of the walk. There are a number of walks around Stonehouse and leaflets giving details are available from the town council.

Stonehouse Wheelers is a family friendly cycling club and always welcomes new cyclists. If you are new to cycling get in touch with the secretary Roy Jones on 01453 298759. From 1pm an advice worker will be available in the APT community shop on the Park Estate.

Join us for the Sunshine and Shadows exhibition presented by Minchinhampton Local History Group looking at the local area before, during and after the Great War. The exhibition will take place from 10am until 5.30pm on Saturday, October 19 at Minchinhampton Market House.
