FIELD Court Junior Academy in Quedgeley has been judged outstanding in every area following an Ofsted inspection in September.

The schools quality of teaching received the highest rating with Ofsted reporting that that pupils’ learning was enriched by many memorable activities both in and out of lessons.

The report further noted that the atmosphere is happy and the children have a good relationship with their teachers.

Inspectors said the pupils’ behaviour is impeccable and their experience in the playground was with polite, well-mannered children from all backgrounds who all got along with each other very well.

Ofsted also noted the school’s strong leadership and management, stating that leaders at all levels wouldn’t accept second best for its pupils.

Chair of Governors, Mick Morris, said: “I have been a governor here at Field Court Juniors for over six years. This is a defining moment and one which I will cherish forever.

"The staff are absolutely fantastic and the children never cease to amaze me with their energy and lust for learning.

“Whenever I attend school the atmosphere is always electric, vibrant and a happy place to be.

"Mrs Armstrong, the senior leadership team and all staff have worked so hard for so long, and on behalf of the governing body, I would like to put on record a huge thank you for the commitment they have shown in making Field Court Junior Academy an outstanding school.”

As part of the inspection parents of children at the school were asked to complete an online survey.

The survey showed that one hundred per cent of parents would recommend Field Court Juniors to others.

Headteacher Kelly Armstrong said: “We are very delighted with the outcome of the inspection, it is down to the hard work and commitment of the entire school community that we have done so well.

"We have a very supportive parent body, wonderful children, proactive governors and a highly dedicated staff team who have all worked tirelessly since our last inspection.

"We are particularly proud of the fact that Ofsted noticed that our pupils are cherished and inspired here.

“The children and their self-worth are at the heart of everything we do and to have this recognised, alongside our high academic achievement is lovely.

"It is a fine art to achieve well in both the academic and the pastoral side of education, but Ofsted said our children left us well adjusted, happy and very confident individuals who were very well prepared for secondary school.”

One of the children who spoke to Ofsted, said: “Here they teach you that, if you work hard the sky is the limit.”

The school intends to celebrate its success with a trip for the entire school community.

Under the current inspection criteria it’s expected that fewer than five per cent of schools in the country will achieve an outstanding judgement.
