Man who died in A417 crash was from Newent
A MAN who died last week after a crash on the A417 was aged 69 and from Newent.
The man was involved in a two-car crash on the A417 near the Air Balloon roundabout at around 5.30am on Friday.
His next of kin have been informed, and have asked that their privacy be respected at this very difficult time. The man, who died at the scene, was believed to be the van driver.
Another man, believed to be the lorry driver, was taken to hospital with what is thought to be non life changing injuries.
The southbound carriageway was closed between the Air balloon roundabout and Cirencester and re-opened at about 1.30 pm.
