WHAT started out as a simple cake sale for charity turned into a version of the Great British Bake Off.
Allan Webb Ltd in Stonehouse held a cake sale to support Cancer Research UK – but two employees, Adam Harris and Tina Powell, decided to take it one step further with their own version of the Bake Off Showstopper.
Adam made a rabbit style cake while Tina produced a delicious chequered sponge.
The cakes were so brilliant that the decision was made to raffle them.
Staff raised a total of £203, with £79 raised from the cake raffle, which was won by Kevin Groves and Paul Barnfield.
For inspiration, Adam looked through a book of cake designs and decided on the rabbit. The outside of Tina’s cake was made up as she went along.
She has a sweet tooth and included plenty of chocolate and marshmallows.
