A 1.6 kilometre stretch of the A417 from county boundary to Bromsberrow Heath is to receive a brand new road surface on the 27th October.

The resurfacing work will start today, Monday and will be completed on Friday, October 31, in total 1300 tonnes of new material will be laid.

Resurfacing is just one part of the county council's work to maintain and improve local roads; alongside patching micro-asphalt resurfacing and surface dressing.

The work will be carried out from 7am until 6pm and due to the width of the road and the size of machinery, the road will be closed to traffic during these times but fully open at all other times.

Cllr Vernon Smith, cabinet member for highways and flooding said: “Access for residents will be available and we’ll make every effort to minimise the disruption.

"I would ask residents and road users to please bear with us whilst we carry out the work. I’m sure everyone will be pleased with the results.”
