POLICE investigating the discovery of a body in a car fire on Rodborough Common in Stroud yesterday are now treating the cause of death as non-suspicious.

Police officers and fire fighters were called to a Vauxhall Frontera that was alight on Rodborough Common in Stroud at 4.55am yesterday and discovered a body in the car shortly after arrival.

While formal identification has not been possible yet, detectives have made contact with the family of the registered owner, a 60-year-old man from Hertfordshire.

The coroner has also been informed.

Road closures put in place while forensic inquiries were carried out. These have now been removed.
