A DECISION on whether to introduce weekly food waste collections in the Five Valleys will be made tonight.

An opt-in service to deal with garden waste and a £15 charge for the collection of bulky items could also be introduced from July 2016 if the report, backed by the environment committee, is ratified by the full council.

The authority’s £3.8 million multi-services contract has been delivered by French waste firm Veolia since 2001 but will expire by June 2016.
