AFTER gaining a third consecutive Britain in Bloom gold, the Stroud in Bloom committee had much to celebrate at its annual general meeting.
Stroud in Bloom chairman, Malcolm Tarling, thanked everyone from the town council to the street cleaners and all those in between who helped secure a third gold for the town, at the AGM on Tuesday, October 28.
While there was much cause for celebration and relief after another successful year, plans are already in motion for next year – which will also mark the 25th anniversary of Stroud in Bloom.
At the meeting Mr Tarling said that the Royal Horticultural Society has yet to decide a theme for 2015 – but was certain that it would not involve a specific colour like this year’s gold theme to mark Britain in Bloom’s 50th anniversary.
He said that next year’s competition would focus on the importance of green spaces for wildlife, health and well-being and what communities can do to transform unloved spaces.
