POLICE are appealing for help to recover a number of valuable guns stolen in a burglary.

Last Thursday, thieves broke into a house in Innsworth, Gloucester whilst the occupant was out. During the burglary the offenders broke into a secure cabinet used to store a number of shotguns and a rifle and stole them.

The offenders also stole a brand new Silver Audi A7, this vehicle was later recovered in the Quedgeley area of Gloucester. However the stolen firearms were not present.

Detective Constable Jon Hume, of the Gloucestershire Police Crime Operations Team, said: "We are extremely keen to recover the firearms stolen during this burglary and urge the public to come forward if they have any information concerning the whereabouts of the weapons or who was involved in the crime.

"Firearms can be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands and we fear that persons not trained or experienced in their use may cause harm to themselves and possibly others. We urge people not to panic but to simply contact the police should they be able to assist.”
