ADDITIONAL police will be patrolling Rodborough over the next few days in an attempt to reassure the public following two deaths in the area.
According to a police spokesman the extra PCSOs have be ‘put on’ in the Wakley Hill area following the murder of an 82-year-old man at an address in the road on Friday.
Residents in the area have expressed concern for their own safety, especially in light of the fact that just two weeks ago the body of a man was discovered in a car fire on Rodborough Common – about a mile away from Walkley Hill.
The landlady of the Prince Albert, Lotte Lyster, said: "People are of course concerned that another person in the community has died in a suspicious incident."
The police investigation is ongoing and police are appealing to members of the public to contact them urgently with any information that may help the investigation.
This could be anything suspicious that they might have seen on Walkley Hill within the last few days.
Call 101 quoting incident number 126 of 7/11/14.
