POLICE who raided a travellers site near Cricklade yesterday recovered stolen items believed to be worth thousands of pounds, including 50 transformers and arrested a 32-year-old woman.
The transformers are believed to have been stolen during a burglary in Calne on Sunday, November 9.
The woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to burgle and was subsequently released on police bail pending further inquiries.
A large number of other property, vehicles and other items were also recovered as a result of the search of Bournelake Residential site.
In order to work out the value of the other items, police are working with surrounding forces, HMRC and other agencies.
The search began at midday yesterday and involved 25 officers and police dogs.
