AROUND 200 friends and relatives said an emotional goodbye to brother and sister Jinny-Mae Cook and Bobby Roberts at their funeral at St Matthew’s Church, Cainscross this afternoon, Friday.
The family had arranged for Jinny to be carried on a horse drawn carriage, while Bobby was carried in a Mercedes.
During the service, the Rev Malcolm King brought back many fond memories for the family as he read eulogies.
Reading tributes for Bobby, Mr King said: “He was a powerful boy - if trouble came looking for him, he could deal with it.”
He read a tribute from their aunt Tina Werrett, who worked with Jinny as she trained to become a hairdresser at Claire Frances Hair Design in Nailsworth.
“She was my sister’s daughter, my niece, my little munchkin,” said Mr King.
“She came to work at Claire Frances Hair Design where she worked hard to become a gifted hair stylist.”
Diamonds by Rihanna was played for Jinny after He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother by The Hollies, which was chosen for father-of-one Bobby.
While the songs were played the congregation was asked to reflect and remember the pair.
Doves were released as the coffins were placed side by side in the churchyard.
