TV actor Danny Dyer believes film star Benedict Cumberbatch would be “annihilated by geezers” if he walked into a pub.
Dyer, who now plays Mick Carter in Eastenders after a string of ‘hard man’ roles in British films, made the comment about Cumberbatch – whose parents live in the Cotswolds – during an interview with Radio Times.
He said: “In this country, he has got utmost respect, but if he walked into a pub he’d get annihilated by geezers. He’d be bullied.”
Dyer added: “I love Benedict. The Imitation Game looks amazing. He couldn’t play a kid from a working-class estate, but I couldn’t do what he does either.”
