A HOTEL in Lechlade has received a food hygiene rating of four stars, improving on a previous score of zero.
The New Inn Hotel, in the Market Place, has been awarded four stars after a recent inspection by Cotswold District Council (CDC), and the authority said it was unusual to make such a big improvement, with the highest score available after a zero normally being a three.
“We are confident that the food and hygiene procedures being undertaken at the New Inn meet the top standards and the New Inn looks forward to welcoming its many patrons,” said owner Nick Sandhu.
CDC officers checked how hygienically food was handled among other criteria.
CDC's Amanda Morgan said: "Following an unannounced visit to the New Inn, the council confirms that the New Inn holds the council's four star rating and that it is understood it is seeking to obtain the five star rating."
