A ROYAL Agricultural University student will dine with entrepreneur Levi Roots as a reward for winning a business competition Postgraduate Kathryn Chipperfield won the RAU’s first ever Mini Grand Idea business competition with her idea seaweed farming idea.
Kathryn, who is studying MSc International Rural Development, will enjoy lunch with Levi Roots, who is the man behind top-selling Regae Regae Sauce in the New Year.
She said: “It felt fantastic to win the competition, an incredible surprise. I’m keen to run my own business, and an opportunity to chat with Levi Roots will be a great learning experience.”
The Mini Grand Idea competition, which was launched on 18 November as part of the University’s Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrations, encouraged students to upload a two minute pitch on their early stage business idea.
The judging panel was also really impressed by Jack Hall, as they thought had clearly researched his idea and demonstrated how a small amount of funding would help him further research his idea.
They awarded Jack a £250 First Steps Fund grant to help him develop his Southern Slurry concept further.
