A POPULAR coffee shop in Fairford will be celebrating its 10th birthday on Monday, with special offers for both loyal and new customers.

Lizzie and Simon Morris opened 7A Coffee Shop in 2004 and have since become famous for their chocolate brownies, some of which are flavoured with skittles, Toblerone chunks, foam bananas and other sweets.

On Monday, the shop will mark its anniversary of 10 years with an open house, serving mini brownies, drinks and handing out special offers in the form of 'golden tickets'.

Both Mr and Mrs Morris, who have been nicknamed Mr and Mrs 7A by the community, plan to keep the festivities going well into the rest of the week with more special offers and celebrations.

When they first opened, they did not even sell their trademark brownies, and only decided to five months in when one customer asked why they did not sell anything with chocolate in.

"The first day we opened, I was so nervous that we didn't open until 11am, instead of 9am," said Lizzie. "My first customers ever were Nikki Bould and her daughter Tilly."

To mark the special day Lizzie has asked Nikki, who lives in Fairford and still regularly visits 7A, if she will be her first customer again on the day of 7A's anniversary.

"I said I'm not opening until she knocks on the door!" Lizzie added.

Simon, the chef, and Lizzie, the front of house provided Fairford with it's first coffee shop for many years when they first threw open their doors.

The couple have three children Archie, 9, Bertie, 7 and Monty, 5 who will soon be joining them in the family business.
