A MOTHER who accidentally left £100 at an ATM in Waitrose in Cirencester is on a mission to find the kind-hearted person who handed her money in.
Alexandra Bubb, who studies international business management at the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) withdrew the cash from Waitrose’s indoor cash machine at about 9.30am on Wednesday, December 3, but then left without collecting the money.
It was only when she arrived at a fair in Malmesbury at around midday that she realised her mistake - and, as most people would, feared the worst, expecting the cash to be long gone.
However, Alexandra was in for a pleasant surprise.
“I had 101 things on my mind,” said Alexandra. “I phoned the store and was astonished to hear my cash was handed in.
“The person on the phone said I was very lucky.”
Now Alexandra, who lives in Nailsworth with her two teenage daughters, wants to personally say thank you to whoever discovered her stranded cash, and handed it in.
“I just think it would be nice to give them some flowers or something,” she said.
“Everyone’s rooting for me, saying what if it was a tall, dark, handsome man and we could go out for New Year’s Eve,” she joked.
