FOREST Green chairman and Ecotricity founder Dale Vince is hoping to build a new football stadium and an eco-business park.

Sources claim the green Eco warrior is looking at ambitious plans to purchase land close to Junction 13 near Stonehouse, but hadn’t given a time-frame on progressing the potential development.

Mr Vince recently purchased Q Park, formerly Quaker Chemicals, in South Woodchester to go alongside his growing portfolio of business sites.

The SNJ exclusively revealed in July that the Forest Green owner is on the lookout for a new ground.

Mr Vince said: “I have been saying it for a while that I think that the only real downside I can see to Forest Green Rovers is the location particularly given our ambitions.

“So for a while we have been looking around the area for alternative places and we have got some ideas.

“If we are lucky we will be able to talk about them before very long.

“It’s something that I think needs to be done. It’s not something you can put a deadline on. It’s better not to do it at all than do it badly. If I don't find the ideal place then I wouldn't do it.”

Mr Vince is also understood to be starting a green mobile phone business.
