A MOTHER and daughter duo are gearing up to cycle 450km for a number of cancer charities.
The pair kicked off the fundraising extravaganza at Stroud based Tigger’s Nursery last week.
Sarah, 47 and her daughter, Georgie, 27 and of Berkley, are planning a sponsored cycle from Vietnam to Cambodia in 2016.
Setting themselves with a target of £7,000 they have already raised more than £500.
A fundraising event was held at the nursery on Saturday, December 20 when children enjoyed visits to Santa’s Grotto and a bouncy castle.
There was also a number of activities including splat the meerkat, name the snowman and a raffle as well as donations from local businesses.
“I have not ridden a bike since I was 15 so it is going to be a lot of fun and we will be doing a lot of practicing,” said Sarah.
Money raised will go towards, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, Ovarian Cancer Charity and Breast Cancer Research.
