AFTER a police appeal last night for information about the identity of a 'distressed teenager' who called from a phone box in Cheltenham, police now believe this to be a hoax.
The call to police was made at about 6pm yesterday from an apparently distressed young person speaking from a telephone box in Marsland Road, Cheltenham.
Police have now received information leading them to believe that this was a hoax call.
Officers are investigating the background to the call. Any further information about the circumstances should be phoned to 101, quoting incident number 280 of 4 January.
