Cotswold District Council, working with Green Homes Together, is encouraging people to apply for funding from Energy Company Obligation, which will help insulate homes.
Cllr Sue Jepson, district council cabinet member for planning and housing, said: βOn average, a quarter of the heat in a typical home is lost when a loft is not insulated and this makes it very difficult to keep the house warm without increasing heating bills considerably. Additionally, many homes built after the 1930βs are likely to have cavity walls and, typically, 35 per cent of the heat is lost as they are not insulated either. The good news is that funding is available to make homes more energy efficient through the Energy Company Obligation, which requires large energy suppliers to help people who require insulation.β
Green Homes Together are helping people apply for the funding.
