A MAN suffered a bleed to the brain and a fractured skull after being punched in the face in Trowbridge on Friday evening.

The 24 year-old man from Trowbridge was punched to the face ,between 8.30pm and 8.45pm on Kitcheners Court, Hill Street, causing him to fall to the ground and hit his head.

He is currently being treated at Southmead Hospital and is in a serious but stable condition.

A 17 year-old boy from Trowbridge was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

He has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police, Chris Wise said: "Police would like to hear from anyone who was near to Kitcheners Court on Friday night and may have witnessed the assault or have more information about the incident."
