MUM Siobhan Roberts dropped from a size 22 to a 10 in just over four months, thanks to help from Slimming World in Cirencester. She told the Standard about her success.

I AM Siobhan and I am an at home mum.

My son was born on June 1, 2014 by emergency caesarean and my weight was off the scale.

At seven months I weighed 17.5 stone and I never stood on the scales again.

He was christened on July 19, 2014 and I wore a size 22 dress - when I hung it on the front of the wardrobe I thought 'please don’t let me be that wide'.

I am 42 and have three children, two of whom are under two years of age.

So I need to be around for quite some years to come - so being a ticking time bomb of obesity and a candidate for heart disease, diabetes and weight related health issues, it was time to bring out the big guns.

On July 23, I took a leap of faith and walked through the doors of my local Slimming World meeting, run by Steve Ireland at the Baptist Church in Coxwell Street, Cirencester at 9.30am on Mondays - and I have never looked back.

The food is fabulous and I can say I have never eaten better or healthier.

The support I have received at the group has been tremendous - it’s great to be part of a team and the group is always interesting and informative (even with two babies in tow I am made to feel welcome).

After a journey of 24 weeks, the week of Christmas 2014 I achieved my target and am lighter than I have been my entire adult life - and a size 10.

Slimming World has saved my life in more ways than one.
