PROTESTERS travelled from Stroud to London on Saturday in the national Wrap Up Trident demonstration.
Starting at the Palace of Westminster, a seven-mile long pink and white “peace scarf” created a symbolic barrier along the Embankment, Horse Guards Avenue, and Whitehall, effectively encircling the central area finishing with a rally outside Parliament. MPs debated Trident last week and agreed to support its renewal.
On Thursday, defence secretary Michael Fallon reaffirmed the need for a nuclear deterrent.
