The Stroud Valleys Music club meet at 7.30pm tonight, Wednesday at St Joseph’s Church Hall, Stonehouse for a music presentation where members will play two records they would and two they would not take with them on a desert island.

With Jane Green, of Zero Waste England, Chris Jockel, Green Party parliamentary candidate, chaired by Gloucestershire county councillor Sarah Lunnon. Community litter pick. Come and join us for a mass clean up this Sunday, January 31. Meet at 1.30pm at the Stonehouse Youth Centre in Oldends Lane. Black bags, pickers and gloves all provided and refreshments, including delicious homemade cakes.

Savvy Seniors meet at 11am every Monday at the Vue Cinema in Stroud to see the latest films. Next Monday, February 2, join us to watch The Judge with Robert Downey starring as a brilliant but shady attorney who returns to his Indiana hometown after learning that his mother passed away. Volunteers are currently needed for the local children's centres. Stanley Singers has been established now for more than 30 years and is looking for more second sopranos. We rehearse on Monday evenings in the Stonehouse Baptist Church from 7.45pm to 9.15pm. Music is varied – from pop to classical and we don’t hold auditions, although some ability to read music would be desirable. Hats for seamen – many people have been knitting hats and balaclavas for seamen, which are sent off to the depot in Bristol. With the cold weather among us the hats are very much needed. If you would like to join in the efforts and knit for seamen, all hats and balaclavas can be left in Stonehouse Town Hall.

Stonehouse Library Baby Bounce and Rhyme and Bookstart Bear sessions are back from 10.30am until 11am every Wednesday during school term time. Come along to Goldfish community toddler group from 10am until 11.30am every Friday in school term time at the Baptist Church.
