POLICE are investigating the death of a man in Faringdon who was found after a fire broke out inside a public toilet.
A spokeswoman for Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said crews from Faringdon and Bampton were called to the toilet block in Southampton Street at 1.41pm yesterday after smoke was seen coming from the building.
Thames Valley Police spokesman Jonathan Chainey said officers were called at 1.55pm after being alerted by the fire service.
He said: “The body of an unidentified man was located inside.
“Investigations are currently under way to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
“Thames Valley Police is investigating the unexplained death.”
