MORE people have come forward with stories of tunnels under Cirencester.
Scores of businesses in the town's Market Place have revealed that they have blocked tunnels in their cellars which they believe lead to the town's Parish Church and now demolished Abbey in the Abbey Grounds.
Now, May Bunt, 84, who used to live in the Norman Arch in the Abbey Grounds said in 1940 when she a child said that she discovered several tunnel in the grounds.
And Mary Hester, 77, said that when she lived in Dyer House in Dyer Street in the 1940s said that there was an entrance door to a tunnel which led to the church in the basement of her home.
