CIRENCESTER town centre was taken over by students from the Royal Agricultural University (RAU) this morning who were pulling a tractor to raise cash for charity.

Students started their tractor pull at 11am on Cricklade Street, then went around the Market Place and up Castle Street before heading to their final destination of the university.

The pull is part of university's RAISE and Give (RAG) Week, which is taking place this week to raise cash for the Chesterton Community Project, The Willow Trust, and The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution.

Student, Barney Elmhirst, 21, who was jingling a collection box at today’s tractor pull, said: “We have a good team and hopefully we will raise a lot of money for charity.”

Other activities taking place during RAG Week include a charity auction, clay pigeon shoot, and a gala dinner.
