CELEBRITY food entrepreneur Levi Roots has described one independent Cirencester restaurant as “gorgeous”, and said everyone should go there for dinner.

Levi, who found success on the BBC show Dragons’ Den with his Reggae Reggae Sauce, was visiting the town’s Royal Agricultural University (RAU) for a meeting of the school of business and entrepreneurship advisory council, of which he is a member.

He often helps and advises the students on business start-ups and developing ideas.

While in town he visited game restaurant Eat Wild, which opened last year in Castle Street.

Following his meal he took to Twitter to praise the eatery, writing: “Dinner at Eat Wild was gorgeous. We should all go there.”

On the same day he also praised the Cotswold town, writing: “Aah Cirencester, what a place, board meeting and lunch at RAU then dinner at Eat Wild – brilliant!”

Eat Wild is run by Ampney Crucis brothers Calum and Will Thompson.

The pair said they were “honoured” to have Levi in for supper.

Calum and Will both set up Eat Wild in 2010, initially selling their popular food at outdoor events and festivals, which ended up with them providing venison burgers in Hyde Park for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
